ACES was called to remove a large croc from the Boca Del Rio area of Ambergris Caye. The overgrown reptile was eating pets and residents feared for their children. This almost 12 foot apex predator became dangerous when a nearby bar started feeding him. The croc was caught within minutes of ACES arrival. It provided a great educational experience for children who watched on their way to school. On the way to relocate the modern day dinosaur, ACES stopped by Island Academy and taught more children about crocodile conservation in Belize. The children named the croc Barry, after the founder of the school. A magnet was strapped to Barry's head during transportation in hopes the animal would be confused and not return so quickly. Problematic crocs like these would normally have went to ACES croc sanctuary; hence the need for funding to rebuild a public educational crocodile sanctuary in Belize.
