ACES American Crocodile Capture

This small, but gorgeous 7ft male American Croc (Crocodylus acutus) was caught by the ACES/American Crocodile Education Sanctuary team and relocated to a system to the far north where it likely won't have a conflict with people again. Our goal for this particular location is to catch a large croc, somewhere around the 14 foot mark. This larger Croc has been causing a bit of trouble and has been breaking the peoples fences to try and have a go at their dogs! We hope to be able to remove this large crocodile that has since lost its innate fear of people, and put him in a beautiful, large enclosure where he will no longer risk being killed by concerned people and allow a much safer waterway for both the landowners and their dogs! These American crocodiles are listed as a threatened species and protected under the endangered species act. Belize is one of the last remaining strongholds for this species and theres only about 1,000 left here. We love these Crocs and we want to save them, we want to conserve this beautiful species for generations to come. Video by ACES Volunteer Intern and Wildlife Biologist, Josh Pierce.
