OLD Adopt A Croc

Croc Xanadu

Xanadu is an eleven foot, female, American crocodile. She was relocated from the WASA area in Ambergris Caye into captivity in 2010 because she was being fed illegally as a tourist attraction and hence became problematic and dangerous.

In the USA any alligator fed by humans is shot on site. American crocodiles are as rare as Polar bears; and so in Belize, ACES opts to rescue the dangerous apex predators. In captivity they can teach people about crocodiles and the importance of not feeding them.

Captive breeding programs are not the answer but have saved numerous species from extinction, such as the American alligator.
