Beautiful Boa

White Sands Cove understands the value of coexisting with the local wildlife. They have been happily sharing their resort with a number of smaller boa constrictors, but seeing as there are quite a few small dogs around the property, they found the girth on this beauty to be a worry where small pets are concerned.

We are very thankful to them for capturing the snake humanely and calling us for assistance in relocating. This beautiful snake was taken to a nice forested area with an ample food and water supply where he will thrive.

If you have lots of bush, boa’s are a good species to have around. We’ve released a number of smaller boas around our property over the years and I haven’t seen a rat or mouse in the longest time! Indigo snakes are a great species too, particularly if you live on the mainland as they actually eat venomous species like the fer-de-lance.
