Clean Fill!!

In an effort tot combat the widely excepted practice of using household garbage and waste to fill in low lying land prone to flooding, we are trying a clean fill project. In partnership with "Mayan Man " Ray Tyree who purchased a wood chipper, we have begun collecting yard waste and tree trimmings to shred down to create a cleaner alternative=.

Thank you to the Isla Bonita Yacht Club for their donation of yard waste and vegetation to be shredded for clean fill. We have begun shredding and mulching this first load, got a couple more loads to collect and shred and then we should have enough (hopefully) to cover a small property! We’re all gonna find out together how much it takes to fill a yard 😂

If you’d like to help out when we’re ready, we’ll need people to be hands on helping clean the yard prior to distribution and then with the spreading of clean fill.

If you’d like to donate to help the cause, we need LOTS of flour sacks to make transporting and distributing wood chips easier, we also need four 4x8 plywood boards to create a collection box so the stuff isn’t just blowing all over my yards as it flies out the shredder! The box we’re using now is a bit small and isn’t up to the task.
