Not as slick as he thinks he is

Good morning world, meet Mr. Botangles, a Boa Constrictor, “Boa Imperator”, native to Ambergris Caye and Belize.

Poor Mr. Botangles got himself stuck in plastic fencing between 2 resorts and alerted the manager of one of the resorts about his struggle with his really loud hissing.

Thanks to a concerned call from the manager at Las Terrazas Resort, we were able to respond ASAP and managed to free him, and as we didn’t know how long the poor fella was stuck for we brought him home for hydration and to monitor him overnight.

He had a bit of an indentation in his body where the fencing was squishing him, but it was gone by the following afternoon, and he seemed to relish being in the tank of water we placed him in so he was likely quite dehydrated not being able to hide from the sun and thermoregulate as he normally would. Thank goodness Steve found him! Mr. Botangles has been released back into the wild in a forested area near the resorts he was found in so he can continue doing the good stuff snakes do 🐍🐀🐍
