This guy again!
Spot the croc! This American crocodile, named Sparta, represents our 150th wildlife call of the year, leading 2020 to be our busiest year yet, and we are only in august! Despite our greatly reduced amount of donations received this year, we are still dedicated to rescuing, educating about, and conserving the wildlife of Ambergris Caye. This might mean educating over the phone or it might mean traveling to a location, rescuing a wild animal, and providing medical stabilization or weeks of rehabilitative care. While we continue to do our best to keep up with our requested free-of-charge services, we are now needing to make a plea to the public for assistance. We are running low on funds and will not be able to continue our regular response if we don’t receive financial assistance. If you are in a place financially to assist us, your help will allow us continue working towards our vision of having a community that loves and strives to coexist with our exquisite wildlife!
Examples of where your donations will be utilized: 🐟food for captive animals and animals in rehabilitation; ⛑medical/stabilization supplies; 🩺veterinary bills; ✈️transport to get the animal to a vet or specialized rehab facility; ⛽️gas for vehicle/boat; 🛠maintenance for vehicle/boat; 🧼disinfection and sanitation supplies; 💧water delivery for rehab/holding pond refills; 🗞printing of educational materials to hand out to those faced with conflict. Donations are preferred to be made locally if your are in Belize - either in person (once we are clear of quarantine) or deposited into ACES ScotiaBank account (3702056). If you are out of country, would like a US tax-deductive receipt, or just prefer this method, you can make donations through our website, AmericanCrocodileSanctuary.org. All methods will get funds to us one way or another, some just take more time. Thank you so much to those who have supported us thus far!! We hope with your help we can make it through this difficult time ❤️ And if you are unable to donate, please share!
